If you watching PUBG professional scene more closely, you probably noticed that some of the most prestigious esports organization leave its scene in recent months and rather focus on the main esports titles like Counter-Strike or League of Legends. However, according to a press release, it looks like that PUBG Corporation came with a solution how to keep the scene, players and organizations alive.
According to the company statement, the new profit-sharing program should include profit-sharing on a team and league-branded in-game items, direct support of costs for operating each team, and event sponsorship. Teams in North American National PUBG League (NPL) and PUBG European League (PEL), PUBG Corp. has promised help with the cost of the operating teams, including travel costs and housing as well as 25% in-game sales which will go to each of the teams in the leagues.
CMO of PUBG Corp., Richard Kwon said in the statement:
We are nothing without our teams and players, so it’s critical that we develop these programs to support our competitive scene and help teams build their brands. In addition to building a popular esport that caters to our PUBG fanbase for years to come, we want to create a financially viable environment for players to sustain themselves and profit from their hard work.
This financial support for the professional scene will continue throughout this year with sponsored competitions hosted by PUBG partners. In my opinion, It's a really great and healthy solution how to keep the world-class teams, players and most of all fans on board.
