Following their long break after The International 2019, PSG.LGD initially had a rough time this season. That was until they made into the Playoffs and snatched the China Dota2 Professional League crown from other top teams in the region.
PSG.LGD managed to finish the Group Stage at the top of the table with seven wins and two losses. However, to make it to the Grand Finals, they had to defeat Royal Never Give Up and Invictus Gaming. In Upper Bracket Round 1, they faced Royal Never Give Up and beat them 2-0. To prove they were still on fire, PSG.LGD defeated Invictus Gaming with the same score.
Royal Never Give Up was one of the teams they lost to in the Group Stage, and the other was Vici Gaming. Losing to Invictus Gaming in their first Playoff match, Vici Gaming fought their way up the Losers Bracket to meet PSG.LGD in the Grand Finals.
The first game was an intense affair that lasted nearly an hour and although PSG.LGD had the kill advantage, Vici Gaming won the game. The second game was a different affair as Lu "Somnus丶M" Yao helped his team secure the win in less than thirty minutes. Game three took PSG.LGD just about the same time to win, making things look dire for Vici Gaming. Refusing to give up, though, Vici Gaming changed up their tactics, which threw PSG.LGD off their game, winning the former the game.
With two wins each, the teams entered the final game well aware of what was at stake. Yet, Vici Gaming was unable to get any proper foothold over PSG.LGD who stole victory with a five-man push.
Since October, ten of China's best teams fought long and hard to win China Dota2 Professional League Season 1. PSG.LGD earned a well-deserved victory along with an ¥800,000 ($112,738) prize.
