The Battle for the Grid is developing by studio nWay. Previously, they released the mobile multiplayer action game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, which turned out to be a box office hit and scored over 45 million downloads. Players suspect that nWay simply rebuilt Legacy Wars for new platforms and came up with a different name.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid are set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It seems that it relies on multiplayer: in a merged press release, cross-platform matchmaking is emphasised.
The release will take place in April 2019 on consoles and later on the PC. The price of the basic version is $19.99. You can get Digital Collector Edition, which includes the game, two exclusive skins and a season first subscription: three additional characters, their stories in arcade mode, and one more skin for $39.99.
The developers promise affordable control, and also assert that the mechanics obey the rule “easy to learn, difficult to master”. In online modes there will always be something fresh: for example, tournaments or specialised tasks. The game supports cross-play: for Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox One will make total matchmaking (apparently, the authors could not agree with the PlayStation). Your progress can also be transferred from platform to platform.
