Global app market intelligence company, Sensor Tower has revealed that Pokémon GO has generated over $3 billion in lifetime gross revenue. 

Niantic's game based on the highly successful Pokémon franchise was first released on July 6, 2016, and has now been downloaded approximately 541,000,000 times worldwide. The U.S. accounts for the most downloads with 99,300,000 unique installs, that is 18.4% of all downloads. Brazil is second with 10.8% and Mexico third at 6.3%.

The U.S. also accounts for most of its revenue, amounting to $1.1 billion (36.2%). Japan comes in second with $884,500,000 (29.4%), and third is Germany with $181,600,000 (6%). The game has an average revenue per download of $5.60.

Based on platforms, Android is responsible for 424,600,000 unique installs (78.5%), while the App Store has 116,000,000 downloads (21.5%). Google Play users have also spent the most at $1.6 billion (54%) against App Store's $1.4 billion (45.6%).

Pokémon GO's most successful year was 2016 when it generated over $832 million. In 2017 it received approximately $589 million and in 2018, $816 million. So far in 2019, the game has amassed over $774 million. With new features still rolling out like the long-awaited GO Battle League in 2020, Pokémon GO shows no signs of slowing its growth.
