PLG Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi with $100,000

United Arab Emirates hosting CS:GO tournament for the first time

As a cybersport community growing rapidly every day, it was not a big surprise that new countries start entering the world of eSport. And what title could possibly be better than a Counter-Strike for a start? According to hltv.org, Power League Gaming (PLG) has announced a 16-team tournament held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (first time in CS:GO history), on December 12-16, where teams will fight for $100,000 in cash!

The whole show will take a place on the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with eight of the 16 teams receiving direct invites, while the other half will come up from regional qualifiers held on FACEIT platform (place where players from all over the world can compete in their favourite game, including CS:GO).

The qualifiers will start from October 26 to November 17, in South America, GCC & South Asia, East Asia, North America, South East Asia & India, Levant & Africa, Europe, and Oceania with winners of each securing a spot to the main tournament.

Abdullaht0ksAl-Ghafari, the manager of operations at PLG had the following statement:

"The PLG Grand Slam focuses mainly on providing an opportunity for teams that are looking for a breakthrough. We are not aiming to create a world-class spectacle but rather a high-standard event that will have all necessary elements for a player, team, talent member, and spectators to enjoy being a part of." He also mentioned how they will treat their guests"The hospitality offered will be something unique as the event is hosted in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and players & talent will get to enjoy cool perks such as Ferrari World, Yas Waterpark, Yas Marina F1 Marina Circuit and Yas Beach besides staying at the 5-star hotel of Yas Hotel (Viceroy). We will make sure all attendees are treated well and the tournament runs as smooth as possible. See you in Abu Dhabi!"

As t0ks said, see you in Abu Dhabi guys!
