Facing off against many of the best players in the region, Peruvian player Gonzalo "Pikoro" Buleje seized victory at Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 South America 1.

Capcom's premier fighting game tournament visited LATAM this past weekend. Facing off against many of the best players in the region, Peruvian player Gonzalo "Pikoro" Buleje seized victory at Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 South America 1.

The tournament saw 257 participants take part in it, attracting names like Renato "DidimoKOF" Pereira Martins, Eric "ChuChu" Moreira, Diego "DARK" Lins, and Nicolas "Kane Blueriver" Gonzalez. The first tournament of the series in the region gathered competitors from Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile,  Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela,  Colombia, and Uruguay.

Pikoro lost to Wellington "Wellington92" Amorim, 0-3,  in the Winners Final but beat Alexandro "Jah_lexe" Rodrigues in the Losers Finals. Pikoro's rematch against Wellington92 went a lot differently as the former was able to reset the bracket with a 3-1 scoreline. Pikoro continued his dominance in the final set with a 3-0 win, snatching the first South American Capcom Cup Finals spot for Peru.

Pikoro will join Derek "iDom" Ruffin and the winners of the last three qualifier event at Capcom Cup 2020, with 18 more qualifiers left to take place. His accolades include a 3rd place finish at The Fight 2019 and 1st at Lima Salty 2018.

The next event in the series is Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 Europe West 1, which begins on July 18.
