Overwatch Team Story LAN to feature $100,000 prize pool

Chinese live-streaming platform, ZhanQi TV, are getting into Overwatch with a ¥700,000 yuan ($100,000 USD) LAN tournament called Overwatch Team Story Chapter 1. The 16 invited teams, including Newbee, Team Celestial, and Vici Gaming, will battle it out in Shanghai Dec. 2 - Jan. 8.

Both the group stage and playoffs will use best-of-five, double-elimination brackets with a best-of-seven Grand Final. The group stage will run from Dec. 2- 24 with the playoffs taking place between Dec. 29-31 and Jan. 6-8.

While no Western teams will participating in the tournament, fans can get their fix of NA Overwatch action with the Overwatch Winter Premiere which will run for roughly the same period, from Dec. 10-Jan. 11.
