Overwatch Lenovo Cup is about to begin soon and we decided to announce the names of the five teams that receive direct invite to our tournament

We are thrilled to announce the names of five teams that receive a direct invitation to the Overwatch Lenovo Cup we are about to host.

European mix that consists of former players of Graviton Surge. Based in Germany, the organization's team took 1st place in European Qualifier to Overwatch Open, 1st-2nd place in EU Main Qualifier to 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown on Gamescom and later managed to get 5-6th place at the same event. The team is has a great potential, considering young age of the players.

Team Dignitas

We are sure there is no need to introduce Team Dignitas to you as the organization takes an honorable place in eSports. The squad of the British organization played for Creation eSports and took 3-4th place at EU Main Qualifier to 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown on Gamescom and EU Regional Qualifier to Overwatch Open. After moving to Dignitas, the roster played at 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown eventually taking 7-8th place and later qualified to Overwatch Open. We're excited to see what they have prepared for our event!

Luminosity Gaming

Who does not know Luminosity? Even if you're not following Overwatch, you heard about them from CS:GO. LG started their path in Overwatch by signing a famous squad with Seagull leading it. But after OG Invitational (where team took 2nd place and earned $7,000) and NA qualifier to Overwatch Open, the management decided to release the roster and signed 2sStroNk - mix of Swedish, Finnish and German players. The team recently ended up at 2nd place during EU qualification to Overwatch Open.

REUNITED is a professional Overwatch team, formed by Fnatic's professional Battlefield team. After playing Overwatch for Fnatic in the first beta period, the team left the organization and created their own. During their active time, the roster fought their way to 1st and 2nd places at various minor events and weekly cups hosted by GosuGamers. At Gamescom's 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown the squad took 2nd place after losing 1:3 to Rogue in the Grand Finals. As of today, REUNITED is considered to be one of the best teams in Overwatch.

Mix of players from CIS who hold their ground in the Overwatch scene. According to GosuGamers rankings, ANOX takes 6th place in European team rankings and 13th place among teams from all over the world. Recently at Gamescom the squad failed to qualify to the Overwatch Atlantic Showdown after losing 1:3 to current Dignitas roster (ex- Creation eSports). The team is still going to Overwatch Open organized by ELEAGUE and FACEIT and we really want to see what they got up their sleeves for our tournament.

Just a reminder: these are just five teams going straight into the play-offs and other three teams will be determined via qualifications. You can find more details about the qualification matches in this post.

The $8,000 prize fund will be distributed among the teams that will make it to the Top-3:

1st place - $5,000
2nd place - $2,000
3rd place - $1,000

The event will take place from 5th to 22nd of September and will be covered by GosuGamers on their Twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/gosutv_ow. Russian stream will be covered by Evgeniy "Sleepsomewhile" Slipchik at https://www.twitch.tv/weplayblizz.
