Overwatch League announced that throughout the 2019 season they will keep records of professional players who in one way or another violate Overwatch League rules of competition and code of conduct. According to the tracker, seven players have already been penalized, even though league play isn't scheduled to start until February 14th, 2019.
Last season, players who were seen in racist or homophobic statements were disciplined. This fact has not been published anywhere else officially, but everything will change with the innovation.
“While the league reviews each case on its own, key factors informing the level of discipline include both the severity and recency of the actions under review. During the season, the league office will continue to evaluate infractions and take action as needed.” said the Overwatch League on a statement on its website.
The league added that their discipline tracker does not include players who are not currently under contract with an Overwatch League team.
It seems that putting up a list of players with violations is the league’s way of putting everyone else in line.
You can check out the list of the players who violated the rules and what penalties they were given on the official Overwatch League website.
