NRG has announced the signing of OpTic Gaming's former Gears of War roster. The revelation was made via Twitter and marks the organisation's entry into competitive Gears.
The most dominant team in Gears 4 joins NRG with its full roster. The squad consists of roster—Gilbert “Xplosive” Rojo, Alex “SuMuNs” Ascencion, Brian “SoLuRs” Valenzuela, Arody “Praized” Dipre, Billy “MentaL” Putnam Jr. and Nick “Ashes” Ridgeway as a coach.
While playing for OpTic, the team won 17 out of 19 Gears 4 events. They chose to leave OpTic in July after the organisation was bought by Immortals Gaming Club. Days later the squad joined American organisation TOX Gaming and competed under its banner at the first Gears of War 5 tournament, ELEAGUE Gears Summer Series Invitational. The team took first place, winning $80,000 in prize money.
Gears 5 won't be released until September 6 and yet NRG's new squad has already begun to gain dominance in the new game.
