DICE has shared another trailer for the Firestorm mode, only this time we get a proper gameplay video with the developers’ commentaries regarding the available features of the first ever Battle Royale experience in the Battlefield series. And it looks like Firestorm is going to be authentic for the franchise after all.
First of all, the gunplay and the core mechanics are left untouched so that Firestorm feels like other maps and modes from Battlefield V. It has the same level of destruction and involvement of military vehicles. There’re 17 means of transport for the players to use including various armoured vehicles, a tractor, and a prototype helicopter. Moreover, Firestorm features fights for objectives, which – once captured – provide the players with rare loot. Vehicle lockups contain the most powerful tanks that can help you gain the advantage over your opponents, but you should know that panzers are easy to counter with landmines and anti-vehicle weapons. And there’s more to that – supply drops, artillery strikes and even V-1 rockets are also included in Firestorm.
All in all, the mode has pretty much most of the traditional features of a Battle Royale game, although there’s a nice small addition to the downed state of a teammate. Once you’ve been knocked down, you can shoot back using a sidearm. Firestorm will be available in Battlefield V starting from March 25. Don’t miss your chance to be among the first players to ride a red tractor into the battle.
