Oceanic Esports has unveiled the Oceanic Esports League, which will feature 10 Australian and New Zealand teams competing for an AUD 25,000 prize pool ($15,575).
Unlike your typical Dota tournament format, Oceanic Esports League will use a special captain's draft. Ten of the best Dota 2 captains in the Oceanic region were tasked with drafting their teams from a pool of Australian and New Zealand players.

We have gathered the best captains in AU/NZ and utilized a special captain's draft format, which allows captains to choose their players from an existing pool of AU/NZ players in hopes of growing the scene as a whole!
The regular season will begin on April 13 and will run for seven weeks to end on May 30, while the main event will follow right after, from June 1-6. xMusiCa's motivation behind the tournament is to help improve the quality of players in the region and prepare them for careers that will take them across the globe.
With the ever-present threat of the coronavirus looming over the world, many LAN tournaments have been canceled or adopted online formats to keep competitive scenes alive while protecting the health of all by enacting social distancing.
