Another fighting game event, NorCal Regionals 2020, has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns. NorCal Regionals 2020 was initially scheduled to be held on April 10 - 12 in San Jose, California.
NorCal Regionals 2020 is yet another esports event affected by the coronavirus epidemic. The Tekken World Tour 2020 and the Soul Caliber World Tour 2020 had to delay and reschedule three events each due to the epidemic. The SNK World Championship Japan Tour Final and Grand Final tournaments were also postponed indefinitely in February.
John Choi, a legendary member of the FGC, released this statement via Twitter explaining the need to cancel the event:

As per county directive, NCR will need to be canceled. We apologize to all sponsors and attendees who were planning on this event. Please give us some time to begin cancellation arrangements including processing refunds to all. We understand decisions to not encourage travel situations by removing tours. NCR is still moving forward with all planned events at this time. We will continue to monitor and change course if needed for safety. If you have questions please email norcalregionals@gmail.com
Arc System Works was also scheduled to premiere two trailers at Final Round and Brussels Challenge but announced earlier today that they would instead release the trailers on their YouTube channel due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The coronavirus has killed 27 people in the United States and has 800 reported cases.
