A well-known NPD Group's analyst Mat Piscatella has recently shared his thoughts on Nintendo Switch performance in US stating that the Japanese console has everything required to overtake its competitors in the course of current year.

Piscatella notes that Nintendo's market share is likely to reach 35%, and the main reason behind this impressive growth is the continuing success of Pokémon games as well as other prominent Nintendo franchises. Analyst also reminds us that 2020 is the year when the new generation of consoles is expected to hit the market, which means that the predicted Nintendo's leadership in 2019 is going to only last a year if it turns out to be true. The growing expectation for the next generation could also be the reason why Nintendo supposedly rocks in 2019 as the community is mostly thrilled with new PlayStation and Xbox at this point.

There's also some other interesting stuff among Mat's predictions like the unstoppable shift towards digital sales which are likely to reach 90% share in total spending. Analyst expects 2019 to be poor in terms of huge releases compared to 2018 which would lead to overall decline in console owners' purchases.

Mat also promises to publish his prediction results on 2018 in the coming weeks to see if his thoughts turned out to be relevant, which is going to affect our beliefs in his recent words.
