Nintendo released a press release today about a partnership agreement with South-Korean game developer LINE Corporation. According to the agreement, LINE will be taking part in the development of a new Dr. Mario World game for mobile devices.
Dr. Mario World will be free-to-play and accessible across 60 countries/regions; it will get English and Japanese localization. Nintendo is going to retain publishing rights for the new game.
The statement released by Nintendo was very formal and didn’t explain what the genre of the game will be and if it’s going to deviate from the classic platformer roots. More news should be coming soon as Dr. Mario World is scheduled to launch in early Summer of 2019.
