Tyler “Ninja“ Blevins and his squad named King’s Canyon won the inaugural Apex Legends tournament held within the Twitch Rivals event. They secured the first place by a very thin margin with 420 points, while the second-place finishers scored 419 points.
Tournament organizers in Fortnite, PUBG and other Battle Royales have been experimenting with the competition formats for a while and came to a consensus that it’s best to use a point system which rewards deep runs and victories in games, as well as kills.
The Apex Legends Twitch Rivals tournament awarded a team five points for each win and one point for each kill.

For this tournament, Ninja teamed up with other popular streamers King Richard and Dizzy, instead of the people he usually plays with during his streams. That caused a minor backlash after Dr Disrespect tweeted this:
Note, that Dr Disrespect, who took the fifth place in the tournament, didn’t throw any punches and never even mentioned Ninja. Nevertheless, the fans noticed that the leader of the Champion’s club played with his buddies, while Ninja brought people like Dizzy to carry him to victory.
We have an extended profile on Dr Disrespect, telling about his professional and personal dramatic life.
