 SK Gaming with the 2:1 score in the grand-finals of the IEM: Oakland 2016. The win brought the squad the champions trophy as well as the $125,000. MVP trophy was gone to Patric "f0rest" Lindberg who showed an amazing gameplay during entire event.

Ninjas in Pyjamas started their way to the finals from the group stage. The Swedes lost lost two games but managed to win over 3 games advancing into the playoffs. Ninjas' next opponent were the Brazilians from

 Immortals who lost 2:0. In the semifinals of the even NiP fought with
 FaZe Clan beating them 2:1.

The grand-final saw the clash of SK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Brazilian squad started with a really confident play winning Train with the 16:4 score. That's pretty expected considering that's one of their signature maps. But Cache and Cbble were very close with teams exchanging the rounds. Eventually, NiP won both maps going into overtime (16:14, 16:14).
