Technically, Apex Legends is the latest game in the Titanfall universe, although devoted fans of the series are still hoping to receive a proper continuation of the story about Pilots and their Titans. Titanfall 2 was a great game, both in singleplayer and multiplayer, but potential Titanfall 3 has a long way to go – because of Apex Legends.
Executive Producer Drew McCoy has revealed some information in regards to Season 2 for Apex Legends and the allocation of development resources. It’s no secret that Respawn has Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in production, but the game is being worked on by a completely separate team, which means that the support for Apex Legends is being executed independently from the aforementioned Star Wars game. Unfortunately, it also means that the developers that are familiar with the Titanfall universe are focused solely on the Battle Royale title. Drew McCoy has directly confirmed that all the plans regarding any future Titanfall games (i.e. Titanfall 3) were delayed in order to provide Apex Legends with continuous and worthy support.
We’ve also recently learned that Respawn is treating its staff with respect and dignity; Vince Zampella doesn’t allow his employees to overwork, which has a direct impact on less frequent new content drops for Apex Legends. Still, the team is dedicated to the idea of making the most out of the game in terms of quality and comfort.
Regarding Season 2, Drew McCoy has shared a few details. We can expect the initial announcement at EA Play in June, and Executive Producer has promised to take into consideration the feedback from Season 1. Moreover, he has hinted at possible changes on the game’s only map – apparently, in the fashion of Fortnite.
