In a post on Naughty Dog’s website, it was announced that they would be pulling the plug on their PS3 multiplayer servers. The decommissioning will take place on September 3, at 5:00 PM PT. The games being affected are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, The Last of Us and the Last of Us: Left Behind.
It's not all sad news though as Naughty Dog will be doing something special for the fans leading up to the date. All DLC for Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us will be available for free. This includes not just gameplay content but also cosmetic items, so players get to experience everything they might not have gotten the first time around.
PS4 servers for these games will remain untouched so no need to panic, but that means no free DLC for you either. You could, however, return to the PS3 version to play the complete package for nostalgia’s sake.
