German esports organization mousesports, defeated G2 Esports in the best-of-3 cs_summit 5 Grand Final to win the title. That’s with having to switch up their lineup mid-series.
mousesports Danish in-game leader, Finn "karrigan" Andersen had to return to Ukraine after their first map win to secure a visa for their EPICENTER 2019 appearance in Moscow. Team coach, Allan "Rejin" Petersen took his place for the rest of the series and was able to help secure the win. It wasn’t long ago that Niels-Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen had to stand-in for Özgür "woxic" Eker due to visa issues.
The fight for Mirage was fierce, with both teams fighting hard for the victory. With mousesports in the lead, G2 managed to force a tie in the thirtieth round, which pushed the game into overtime. With karrigan’s help though, mousesports were able to take Mirage on the attack, but it also marked the in-game leader’s departure.
Rejin joined the squad on Vertigo, and mousesports suffered for the mid-series change as G2 began to dominate the map. mousesports only managed to win one round before losing the Vertigo entirely. Things were now down to Train, the decider map and mousesports wasn’t interested in having a repeat of the prior map. G2 secured a headstart, but mousesports fought back, eventually stealing the map and victory with a final match score of 2-1.
The final cs_summit 5 standings are:
- 1. mousesports - $52,500
