Mortal Kombat X - the first in the series to hit PS4 and Xbox One -will launch on 14 April 2015. That's a worldwide release date, folks, so everyone on the planet will be disemboweling and screaming "Get over here" in unison. How lovely. The PS3/360 and PC versions will also be available on 14 April.

As is The Law with video game release date announcements, there is also word on pre-order bonuses. Those who put down cash to secure their copy early will get four-armed steroid-abuser Goro as a playable character. What's interesting about this is that Goro clearly won't be in the starting roster of fighters (otherwise this would be the worst pre-order bonus ever). While he's often a more peripheral character, he has been in the series since the beginning. So who else will make the cut? And who will be strategically left out to entice Mortal Kombat fans to buy the game early or fork out for DLC?
