Following a small tease by creative director Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios has now released the first gameplay trailer for Joker in Mortal Kombat 11. The psychotic clown of mayhem does not disappoint.

This version of Joker loves his toys, as almost every move of his seems to employ some item, device or body to cause all sorts of harm to his opponents. He also makes a lot of use of his cane. It turns out that the screenshot Ed Boon shared in his tease was actually the aftermath of Joker’s Fatal Blow, which has him repeatedly stab the opponent before beating them with his cane in a wild spray of blood.

This time Joker has two retractable punching gloves, a pistol hidden beneath a Batman hand puppet, a suicide bomber, and even a random person in a wheelchair. To Mortal Kombat 11’s Joker, everything is a weapon and he’s not afraid to use it.

In Joker's Fatality, he hands the opponent a large cake which explodes and launches them up into the air. He then sprays bullets at the body, forcing it onto a Friendship sign which is then transformed into a Fatality sign that eventually falls to crush the opponent's head after the volley of bullets has ended.

Joker represents the fifth fighter from Mortal Kombat 11's Kombat Pack, making Spawn the last to arrive in March. Joker will launch in early access on January 28 and a week after for everyone else.
