NetherRealm Studios developers told about the intention to introduce into the game the ability to disable the limit of 30 FPS in videos and various cutscenes, as well as in Krypt. Of course, this is about the PC-version.
The situation is funny because a similar patch was released about a month ago. But it was made by the offended MK11 fans. People couldn't play without pain in their eyes while the game with 60 FPS during the fight changed to 30 FPS during fatalities or other cutscenes.
Also, that mode cleared black horizontal bars in the menu and Krypt, which were visible on conventional widescreen monitors. Whether NetherRealm is going to patch this fault - we don't know it yet. They can consider such innovation as a deep and cinematic author's decision.
The frame rate decrease in the cutscenes happens when the camera approaches the characters and turns on the video with a fatality or something else. It is necessary to increase the model detailing drastically. It may harm game capacity. This limitation can be understood by gamers when they are playing on the console, but the PC version is obliged to have a chance to be beautiful and, at the same time, smooth.
Mortal Kombat 11 operates at 60 FPS on all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, but at certain times the frame rate is halved to increase the detail of the fighters.
