After waiting for so long, NRS fans can finally welcome Rambo, Mileena, and Rain to the world of MK11

The NRS community has been through the wringer recently as they were forced to watch other properties add new things and features while they were left with much of the same stuff. So, while Smash got new characters, DBZ got patch notes to improve the game's balance, and Street Fighter has been chugging along nicely, Mortal Kombat was left with little to cheer about.

Thankfully, things improved when the new costumes were announced for Subzero, Johnny Cage, and Di'vorah. However, this was mostly a cosmetic change, as there weren't any tangible additions. However, at 2 pm WAT, things changed as the official MK11 twitter account dropped a promotional video for a trio of new characters.

FIGHT!

The video was under two minutes and opened with Tarkatan running through the forest only to be waylaid by a face we have not seen in a while — Rain. Unfortunately, Rain's prey was stolen by an unseen enemy. The enemy stepped into the light, and from my apartment, I could figuratively hear NRS fans worldwide gasp — it was Mileena! A fight ensues between Rain and Mileena, but soon, the fight was broken up by a third surprising character, John Rambo.

Now, for some people, this is not a surprise as data miners have already speculated that these were the three DLC characters coming to the game, but actually seeing them was such a delight.

The reaction has mostly been positive as Mileena is a character that so many people wanted to see. Fans will have to wait until the 17th of November, which is only over a month away. In addition to the new characters, it was also announced that there would be free upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is open to both existing MK11 owners and newbies.

So, are you excited about the latest additions?
