European esports organization Team Secret has announced its new roster for the upcoming season. The team says goodbye to a great player and coach but also welcomes two additions to fill the void.

Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng is now an inactive player, as he takes an extended break from competitive Dota 2. The series of extended boot camps, Majors, and constant travel put a heavy toll on the Malaysian player, which is why he’s taking the time to recuperate. While with Team Secret, he achieved three Valve Major wins and helped the team reach The International in the past three years.

Also leaving the organization is the Korean team coach, Lee “SunBhie” Jeong-jae. SunBhie joined Team Secret in June 2017, taking on a variety of roles during his time with them. His contributions to the team ranged from game analysis to strategy drafting and preparation. His ability to adapt to shifts in the game and make regular adjustments made him a valuable asset.

New additions

Legendary Dota 2 player, Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen joins Team Secret’s active roster to complete the lineup. The famous player was instrumental in Team Liquid’s 2017 The International win. Known for his unique hero specialization, MATUMABAMAN will play the carry role, while Michał “Nisha” Jankowski moves to the mid lane.

Replacing SunBhie as the new coach is Lee “Heen” Seung Gon, who also played a part in Team Liquid’s TI7 win and their 4th place finish at TI8. Leaving Team Liquid in late 2018, he joined the SEA team, TNC Predator, where he was able to elevate the team, even though they finished 9th-12th at TI9.  The new roster is as follows:

  •  Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen
  • Michał "Nisha" Jankowski
  •  Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg
  •  Yazied "YapzOr" Jaradat
  • Clement "Puppey" Ivanov

Team Secret skipped the first Major of the season to get some much-needed rest and recuperation. Their first event will be the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major qualifiers. Following this, they will attend the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational in Singapore from December 17-22. The invitational has the likes of Evil Geniuses, Alliance, Natus Viinvere, TNC Predator, and Team Liquid in attendance, making an excellent opportunity for the new roster to show its strength on the international stage.
