This is YNk’s first victory as a coach of the Brazilian squad

While most of esports fans had their eyes on TI8, ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 arrived in Hong Kong. Starting August 24 to 26, eight teams fought for a piece of delicious $300,000 prize fund. The teams are as follows:

  • MIBR
  • OpTic Gaming
  • TyLoo
  • Virtus.pro
  • Flash Gaming
  • MVP PK
  • Ghost Gaming
  • Team Kinguin

The event ran as a playoff single elimination bracket with bo3 matches. During the first day we probably saw one of the biggest upsets – Virtus.Pro lost to MVP PK (1:2). Although, that was the only surprise for the whole tournament. MIBR steamrolled each and every enemy they faced.

First Brazilians destroyed Flash Gaming (2:0), giving them only 2 maps in 4 rounds. Then FalleN and co had a tougher fight against MVP PK but outplayed them as well (2:0). In the finals, MIBR easily beat Team Kinguin (3:0) and became the champions of ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018. By the way, that’s the first victory of the squad under the MIBR tag.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo got the tournament MVP title and Janko "YNk" Paunović achieved the first title as the team coach. Good for both of them!

The tournament placements and prize distribution ($300,000):

  • 1st place – MIBR – $200,000
  •  2nd place – Team Kinguin – $60,000
  • 3-4th place – Ghost Gaming, MVP PK – $20,000
