Merry Christmas and a WePlay! Minor!

Merry Christmas and a WePlay! Minor! ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
Oh, the Titan’s Split Earth is frightful
But the core’s BKB is delightful
And since we love Dota so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
And you know what WePlay! is plannin’
The Minor is right here and stayin’
Just turn our broadcast on
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
When the cores are having a fight
The supports are the toughest role
In a late-game that is so tight
The win makes our hearts so warm
WePlay! Minor is slowly coming
And, my dear, it’ll be so exciting
But because we love Dota so
Let it snow, let it snow, and snow
We are glad to share some great news: WePlay! Esports will be directly involved in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit 2020 professional season! We have been waiting for this event for a long time and are immensely flattered by Valve’s attention and the invaluable trust to grants us the right to hold a Minor this winter!
Please welcome: WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, the second Minor of the season and the first Dota 2 Pro Circuit event by WePlay! Esports!
Participants
Eight teams from six regions: North and South America, CIS, Europe, Southeast Asia, and China. Valve will announce the exact distribution of additional slots later.
Dates
Qualifiers: December 5-6, 2019.
Main Stage: January 9-12, 2020.
Format
Regional Qualifiers
Now Minors’ and Majors’ qualifiers are parts of a single championship, which consists of three phases. Those who have lost chances of participating in Majors will continue to fight for Minor tickets. Less successful teams will proceed to the next stage: best of 3 Double Elimination bracket ending in a grand final, which is played up to three wins (best of 5). Thus, each region will receive one winner – a Minor participant. But, since there are six regions and eight places in the upcoming tournament, Valve will independently distribute two tickets choosing from the teams of Minor Qualifiers’ finals.
It is noteworthy that teams that could not make their way to either Major or Minor will also not be left without a consolation prize: each of the regional participants will find 20 DPC points in a Christmas woollen sock above the fireplace!
Group Stage
The Group Stage is played in the GSL system: two groups with four teams each compete in the Double Elimination format (with a pair of opening matches, “winners” pairs, relegation meetings and decisive series). The two best teams proceed to the Playoffs, and the worst will drop out of the tournament.
Playoffs
The four strongest teams from the Group Stage will compete in the Double Elimination grid through the best of 3 matches. WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 Champion will be determined in the Grand Final within the best of 5 series.
Prize pool distribution
- 1st place: $72,000, 140 DPC points + Major quota
- 2nd place: $60,000, 120 DPC points
- 3rd place: $54,000, 110 DPC points
- 4th place: $42,000, 90 DPC points
- 5-6th places: $24,000, 60 DPC points
- 7-8th places: $12,000, 40 DPC points
Participants
WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 will be attended by the winners of the regional qualifications from six regions, as well as two teams that Valve will choose independently. A full list of applicants will be announced later.
In the meantime, we have an opportunity to prepare our folk costumes, enhance the knowledge of local folklore, fix the colour order of party ribbons (you never know) and learn a couple of chants because we will meet the new year alongside our favourite Dota 2 teams!
