Mega Drive Tower Mini is coming to Japan

In what has become an increasing trend among Japanese video game companies, Sega announced a mini version of its third games console. The Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis in North America) is getting the retro treatment with a list of 42 games. 

Doubling down on the mini theme, Sega announced on a Famitsu livestream that it would also be releasing a couple of Mega Drive accessories. Known collectively as the "Tower of Power", these accessories are the Sega CD, Sega 32X and a classic Sonic the Hedgehog cartridge. 

These extra accessories are only for their aesthetic value and will cost ¥3,980 (about $37). They're only confirmed for a Japanese release for now and will launch together with the Mega Drive mini on September 19.
