Meet this new single-player CCG called Deck of Ashes

AY Games recently announced a new CCG called Deck of Ashes. From the get-go, it reminds of Darkest Dungeon in visual style and of Slay the Spire in the gameplay.

The game takes place in a procedurally generated open world, where a player roams and fights with different enemies. The narrator of the announcement trailer mentions that you need to “gather your allies,” which could indicate co-op gameplay.

Here are the two things that make this game stand out from the other CCGs, including Slay the Spire:

There is Camp (base) you need to maintain.

That means that besides collecting cards and building decks, the player will also need to manage other resources to stay alive and progress through the game.

Character death is irreversible.

That’s an interesting turn of events for a CCG. Does it mean that if I die, I need to build up my decks from scratch, or that I lose only my camp?

This question can be answered after April 11th when it launches on Steam Early Access. Initially, Deck of Ashes will have one playable character, about 50 types of monsters and 100 cards. The developers plan to release the game in the second half of 2019.
