Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ESEA has decided to postpone MDL Global Challenge Season 33 indefinitely until health authorities give the all-clear. The tournament was initially scheduled to begin this month.
The inability to predict when Global Challenge will return has led to the need for a few adjustments. ESEA is, however, operating under the assumption that MDL Global Challenge Season 33 will return sometime during Season 34 and before ESL Pro League Season 12 begins in September.
As a result, teams that qualified for Global Challenge can choose to skip Season 34 if the schedule will be too hectic for them. If they don’t qualify for ESL Pro League, they can return to Season 35. On the off chance that a team qualifies for ESL Pro League and falls into MDL relegation during Season 34, they get to advance to the next ESL Pro League without penalty.
Here are the eight participants of MDL Global Challenge Season 33:
-
Sprout
-
Japaleno
-
Bad News Bears
-
ORDER
-
AGO
-
Triumph
-
TeamOne
-
Lucid Dream
Regarding roster lock, teams will also be allowed to add up to two additional members to their roster in consideration of the long delay.
