McDonald’s Denmark flirts with CS:GO fans

McDonald’s Denmark flirts with CS:GO fans ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
There are many countries which support eSport in general, but Denmark showed that CS:GO is very popular with the general public, mostly because of their home team Astralis, which won two Majors titles and are currently the best team in the world. Also, RFRSH Entertainment (owner of team Astralis and tournament organizer) made their first step into eSport scene year ago, when they sold out Royal Arena in Copenhagen and sent a strong message that people in Scandinavia love eSport!
And why I am talking about this? Because eSports scene influenced the local companies, the big companies such as McDonald’s for their PR marketing. On Reddit, you could see a photo of a McDonald’s menu with CS:GO terminology. Don’t believe me? Look at this:
Cheeseburger as an eco, Big Mac menu as a full buy and utility must be chicken nuggets of course… I must admit that this is one of the funniest campaigns which I saw in past few years.
"Taking the natural language of the CS:GO into our menu is a way to show our affection and love of the community," says Mads Friis, Commercial Director at McDonald's Denmark.
And here is more. Denmark takes its Counter-Strike very seriously. Recently, Danish superstars Astralis were invited to Copenhagen's City Hall for a special pancake breakfast with the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen. They've done their country proud this year, easily clinching the entire year as the best team in the world. They'll look to keep their streak going at upcoming BLAST Pro Series in Copenhagen.
We should learn from Denmark a lot! Thanks for the beautiful example of how we should threat with eSports fans, because it’s not just a sport, it’s OUR sport! GL & HF
