Marvel’s Avengers looks exciting and promising, especially if you consider that the MCU as we know it is mostly done and the fans need another entertainment product to enjoy their favourite heroes. Unfortunately, the game in question has a few weak points. One of the obvious flaws is the design of characters who look as if they’ve been taken straight out of a cheap dating sim and put into the fictional environment of superhero video games.
Luckily, this particular thing is subject to change. Despite the early words by Shaun Escayg, the lead creative director at Crystal Dynamics, the Earth’s mightiest heroes will face some face adjustments – sorry for the deliberate pun. Honestly, the characters do need some rework since right now, they are being called stunt doubles – and it’s the least offensive moniker they’ve recently received. Their uncharismatic, mediocre looks give an impression of a group of randomly selected extras – we can go on with parallels, but you should’ve understood the concept by now. Casey Lynch, the editorial director for Marvel’s Avengers, has inspired hope in the fans’ hearts with his promising words. He said that everything regarding the game would continue to evolve and change.
The footage we’ve seen so far was taken from pre-alpha, so as the game approaches the launch window, it’s going to look polished and generally better. Casey Lynch specifically mentioned that characters would change – and we assume that this very statement concerns their stupidly generic faces as well.
