Manchester City signs Ryan Pessoa to its esports lineup

Manchester City has signed FIFA esports pro, Ryan Pessoa. This signing makes their second signing following the acquisition of Shaun "Shellzz" Springette in December 2018. Together they will compete in the FIFA 20 season.

Pessoa represented Man City in last season’s eClub World Cup, in which both he and Shellzz reached the quarterfinals. His global Xbox rank for last season was 17th, and that was when he didn’t have the full might of a successful Football Club backing him.

“It’s a massive honor to sign for such a prestigious club, who have clear ambition both on the football pitch and on the virtual one. I will do my best to ensure I perform at the highest level to make this club proud,” said Pessoa in a statement.

Pessoa’s first major appearance with his new team is the ePremier League Qualifiers, where he will face other FIFA pros across the UK. He’ll be fighting for the chance to represent Man City at the upcoming ePremier League, which holds in March.
