Luminosity adds fnx, TACO ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
On Monday evening we had news that Luminosity were on the verge of replacing Ricardo "boltz" Prass and Lucas "steel" Lopes following a run of poor form that saw them finish in the top four at the iBUYPOWER Invitational and at the RGN Pro Series Championship, and in the top eight at IEM San Jose.
Lincoln "fnx" Lau and Tacio "TACO" Filho join Luminosity after raising eyebrows with Games Academy, who are competing in North America thanks to Golden Chance, a gaming project created by Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo with a view to developing the Brazilian scene.
Games Academy coach Wilton "zews" Prado has also been hired to guide the team, replacing Renato "nak" Nakano, who had been part of the squad since it joined Luminosity.

A statement from Luminosity reads:
"This decision was not made lightly, and was made collectively as a team,"
"Over the past few months our team has consistantly failed to obtain the results we had hoped to achieve as an organization.
"We ask that you respect the decision and the process of roster changes, that goes on behind the scenes.
"We feel it best to keep the discussions, reasons, and details private between the players and the organization."
The new Luminosity roster will have a baptism of fire as it will face fnatic in the first group round of the FACEIT League Stage 3 Finals. DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca champions EnVyUs and Ninjas in Pyjamas make up the rest of the group.
Luminosity now have:
- Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
- Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
- Marcelo "coldzera" David
- Lincoln "fnx" Lau
- Tacio "TACO" Filho
- Wilton "zews" Prado (coach)
