Looks like solo/duo modes are no longer planned for Apex Legends ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
The long-awaited Season 1 for Apex Legends has finally started, and we now have plenty of new cosmetics to grind and a new Legend in the form of Octane to unlock. Along with that, several quality-of-life improvements and additions have shaped the developers’ course of further expanding the experience.
Sadly, there is also evidence that we might not ever see the rumoured solo and duo modes in Apex Legends. The corresponding files were removed from the game’s client, and the information was discovered by ‘Apex Legends – News & Leaks’ Twitter. The files were apparently deleted with the recent patch, but it does not necessarily exclude the possibility to see the aforementioned modes in the future – also is it highly likely. Let’s be honest, Apex Legends has a strong team play that requires all members of a single squad to work together. There’re of course examples of skilled solo players wiping out entire squads, but it is worth noting that Apex Legends is a class-based game and particular Legends might be less effective or even defenceless against the other. Which means that incorporating the solo mode would’ve been an exceptionally hard – if not impossible – mission.
What really matters is adding new content – and right now there’re some concerns that the long-awaited Season 1 underdelivered in regards to that. First and foremost, Respawn needs to address that – and not the potential solos and duos, which are not that much needed.
