LoL World Championship will "allot" $ 2 million of prize money

Participants of the 4th season of League of Legends World Championship will compete for the prize pool of two million dollars.

There was a time when in the final of the world championship on League of Legends participants were awarded with the record sums of prize money. Valve with its DotA 2 and TI4 championship raised the financial bar to the highest heights by organizing the prize pool of 10 million dollars. But agree, also the sum of two million still looks quite impressive. Furthermore, the winner of Grand Final will have exactly half of this heap of money in its hand (in particular $ 1,000 000). Reward for the second and third places will amount to $ 250,000 and $ 150,000 respectively. The other competitors, who get into the top eight, will receive $ 75,000 each.

The first stage of the struggle for such a large sum has already started on August 7 and will last until September 7. We are talking about regional qualifiers, the winners of which will get into the group stage. The last one will be held in two stages from 18th to 28th of September. Sixteen teams will take part in the group stage, and each team will play 6 matches within it. The venues of the group stage will be Taipei and Singapore. Then quarterfinals (October 3-6) and semifinals (October 11-12) are following. And finally, the Grand Final of League of Legends World Championship will be served as a dessert on October 19 in Seoul (South Korea) from 09.30 to 15.00 Kiev time. Besides the prize million champions will get the Summoner’s Cup and respect of the multimillion army of fans. Well, this is worth to be fought for.
