League of Legends patch 9.20 changes ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
This League of Legends patch puts a lot of focus on Garen, Shaco, and Viktor to give their fans a little excitement. Their kits get a refresh, which should create more viable playstyles without changing the Champions’ identities. The patch makes small changes for the upcoming Preseason 2020 and will also remove the ability to add friends through social media.
Champions
Garen
Garen receives small buffs to Attack Speed Growth and Health, while Health Growth sees a tiny reduction. His passive regeneration is now more reliable but will no longer double while below 25/50%. Courage will now grant shields instead of extra damage reduction, and Judgement’s spins now scale with Attack Speed. Demacian Justice also gets a few changes, like the removal of the Villain mechanic and reworked damage.
Shaco
Shaco loses some Attack Damage and Attack Damage Growth, but gains additional damage of 10-25 when backstabbing. Deceive’s stealth duration is changed up but receives a shorter cooldown and confirmed to Critically Strike when attacking from behind. Jack In The Box will now do AOE damage when the boxes are triggered, dealing more damage in the early game and less in the late game.
Two-Shiv Poison will now do Magic damage instead of Physical damage, while also receiving a buff. Lastly, Hallucinate will now have boxes trigger immediately and do AOE damage, but deal less and have a uniform 1-second fear duration. These changes will help Shaco’s popular builds to feel more distinct.
Viktor
Viktor doesn’t get any changes to his base stats but does receive more augments for Gravity Field and Chaos Storm. The former will slow opponents by 20% when hit while the latter now ticks faster, moves quicker, and keeps chasing Champions even after Viktor dies. His mana dependency has also been reduced to make him a much more viable pick.
Lissandra
She receives an Armor buff, while both Iceborn Subjugation and Ring of Frost gets increased Damage Ratios.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank receives nerfs to base Armor and Armor Growth.
Pantheon
Comet Spear does less base damage later on but deals the same amount at the start.
Ivern
Ivern now becomes a ranged Champion with a much higher basic attack range. As a result, Brushmaker will no longer increase Ivern’s range.
Qiyana
Qiyana’s early base damage receives a nerf, especially at level 3.
Sona
Her passive QOL now has a resource bar to help users track its progress.
Varus
Base Attack Damage, Mana Regen, and Health receive slight buffs, while Mana gets a 0.5 nerf.
Items
Locket of the Iron Solari
The locket receives a significant buff to active shield strength.
Bugfixes
Garen, Pantheon, and Viktor all receive bugfixes alongside Yuumi, Nunu, Wukong, and Diana. Other notable fixes are:
Featherstorm will no longer have its ability rotation lock removed when the cursor is below Xayah.
When Lulu polymorphs Gnar, he will no longer acquire extra buffs after transforming back from Mega Gnar.
Cho'Gath’s Feast execution indicator now correctly appears on clone’s health bars.
Lux’s Illumination is now correctly tagged as a single target ability.
