The 2019 League of Legends World Championship theme song has dropped with a cool new video. Named Phoenix, the song talks about conquering inner weakness to soar above the competition.
The Worlds theme song was released right after the conclusion of the tournament's Play-In Round 2 Stage. Performed by Cailin Russo and Chrissy Costanza, the video is a riot of colour and effects in the form of scribbles, graffiti and animation. Together they create an awesome clip that oozes style and wild freedom.
The three players featured heavily in the video are Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther of G2 Esports, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok of SK Telecom T1 and Song "Rookie" Eui-jin of Invictus Gaming. The video has the pro players merge with their League of Legends avatars. Caps becomes Irelia, Faker takes on Karma's form and Rookie is Lissandra. The video ends with all three of them joining many others as they walk towards a stadium.
Clutch Gaming, Damwon Gaming, Hong Kong Attitude, and Splyce all advance to the Group Stage where they join 12 direct seeds from all regions. The action will continue from October 12-15 and 17-20, before ushering in the Knockout Stage.
Riot Games continue to wow fans and non-fans alike with their cool Worlds music videos. It's a long standing tradition that we all look forward to and helps to get us even more pumped about the World Championship. Check out the video below.
