The third week of LCS finally ended at the last weekend.

The third week of LCS finally ended at the last weekend. After two weeks of traveling (Sweden and Russia) the championship returned to the home studio walls located in Cologne. Over the last Saturday and Sunday fans were able to watch the eight most interesting fights, and, if you missed the matches for any reason, we certainly recommend you to review them.

Saturday June 29, 2013

The first match on June 29 was held between Ninjas in Pyjamas and MeetYourMakers. This match was especially interesting because NiP replaced the major part of the main staff. Beginning of the season was very unhappy for the team. Statistics of wins and losses (2-6) has led to the fact, that straight away three players were replaced in the team’s line-up, and it yielded the immediate results. The updated team cracked down its Polish rivals quite masterfully without giving any chances to win.

At the first glance it may seem that the champions of Spring LCS 2013 got not the strongest opponent in the first day of the third week. However, the tournament newcomers Lemondogs proved that they should not be counted as the outsiders. The fight, which lasted more than 50 minutes, showed how strongly Fnatic desired to win, and their aspiration was rewarded.

And one more exciting match took place on Saturday evening. Leaders of the tournament grid Team ALTERNATE had to play against SK Gaming. We all know how badly SK started this summer, and, taking into account how easily Team ALTERNATE outplayed their previous rivals, it could seem that this match would

not be an exception. But nothing of the sort! It seemed as if SK came out of a long winter slumber and realized that it’s time to win, and they did it very effectively.

The last Saturday match was held between Evil Geniuses and Gambit Gaming. After a series of dizzying home victories we all expected that Gambit Gaming would continue their winning streak. But just one-two days before it was announced that the team’s top-liner Darien would not be able to travel to Cologne because of illness.  Russian team had to find a substitution to participate in the third week of European LCS.  One way or another, but we can surely say that this substitution had a noticeable impact on the team’s play, and finally it resulted in a loss.

Sunday June 30, 2013

Sunday started with a sort of e-sports El-classico. Two European e-sports teams, competing with each other in Europe for many years, met in a match of League of Legends European championship. SK Gaming and Fnatic are the two teams worthy of each other. Of course, the question arose, would SK repeat their yesterday's success or Fnatic would become their another sticking point? The fight lasted more than an hour, but finally SK Gaming overplayed their opponent.

Gambit Gaming
also lost its second match playing without the top-liner. We can say that Ninjas in Pyjamas is not the most formidable opponent for GG team, but we can also notice how the play of updated NiP’s line-up has changed. Two victories over the strong opponents showed us the success of implemented changes.

Despite the loss in the match against SK Gaming, Team ALTERNATE didn’t melt down. Faced with Evil Geniuses, once again they demonstrated a great game, just trampling down the opponents with an incredible score 20-2. Team ALTERNATE continues to lead in the tournament grid, and if the team continues to show

such a game, we will have just an exciting season.

The last match of the third week was held between MeetYourMakers and Lemondogs. Polish team MYM started season very brightly but then began to lose its position. Nevertheless, MeetYourMakers was going to finish this gaming day with a victory. Slowly but steadily they gained their purpose. The match was rather passive, as for more than 40 minutes we didn’t see much fighting and killing. However, the main purpose of MYM was achieved. MeetYourMakers won the match!
