The International 7 championship-winning team led by Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi has unveiled their new organization called Nigma.
It came as a huge surprise when a week after TI9, Team Liquid’s Dota 2 squad parted ways with the organization. They had just finished in second place, but the team had decided that it was time for them to leave Team Liquid and start their own organization. The team chose not to take part in the first round of events in the DPC 2019-2020 season to prepare for their return under their banner. The old roster was soon replaced by the former Alliance squad and it will be interesting to see them face each other during the season.
The name Nigma comes from the Arabic word for star, giving birth to memes and criticism regarding their naming choice. Nigma’s roster consists of:
Aliwi “w33” Omar
Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi
Ivan "MindControl" Ivanov
Maroun "GH" Merhej
Kuro Salhi "KuroKy" Takhasomi
With their organization’s reveal, KuroKy and the gang are now set to take part in the DPC 2019-2020 season. They join the second Major’s open qualifiers this weekend, behind most of the competition. Also starting late in the season are OG and Team Secret.
The single-elimination DreamLeague Season 13 Open Qualifiers take place this week, rewarding the top teams with direct seeds into the Major, which takes place from January 18-26, 2020.
