K-Swiss have developed the first esports-specific footwear in partnership with Immortals Gaming Club (IGC). Called the MIBR ONE-TAP, it was created with three factors in mind. Comfort, versatility and temperature control.
After shadowing the team extensively, K-Swiss was able to figure out what esport athletes need. The outsole was designed for ultimate comfort with Flow Cool System 2.0 offering maximum airflow channels for the foot and the mesh allows for a sock-like fit. The shoe carries the MIBR colours, silver and black, with the wordmark in front and the crest on the foldable heel.
“The ONE-TAP is the output of months of collaboration and prototyping and a genuine bottom-up approach to understand our players in and out of the game, and to design a product that would feel truly bespoke and original,” said IGC CEO, Ari Segal in a statement. “We’re thrilled to finally be able to bring the ONE-TAP to market and look forward to delivering the first and best esports and gaming performance footwear product in the world to all players, starting with our MIBR brand.”
The limited edition shoe costs $125 and comes with a perforated EVA sock liner for keeping the foot cool and a die-cut Ortholite sock liner for warmth and comfort. They can be easily swapped out at any time, giving users some versatility in its use cases.
MIBR is a Brazilian esports brand with a popular CS:GO team that is owned by IGC. Now that we have esport shoes for professionals, wearables for pros could be anything that isn't directly tied to actual gameplay.
