Russian esports organization Winstrike Team has announced the departure of CS:GO coach, Ivan "Johnta" Shevtsov.
The termination of Johnta's contract with the team was a mutual decision after several months of generally lackluster results. The team stated that its poor results were due to an incompatibility in "the work process and the team's style."
Winstrike Team general manager, Adalyat Mamedov said regarding the departure:
"Johnta showed himself as a true professional, leader, and mentor who knows the game very well. During his work in Winstrike, the team has grown tremendously, especially in tactics. We are grateful to him for the work he did and the team he gathered. We wish him glorious victories, and I am sure that he will find a team which he will lead to big victories.”
Johnta joined Winstrike on May 20, 2019. During this time, the team failed to enter the CIS Minor Championship, finished 3rd place in the closed qualifiers for BLAST Pro Series Moscow, and played in the final stage of Good Game League 2019.
Following their recent 7th-8th place finish at WePlay! Forge of Masters Season 2, Johnta has been inactive, and it probably marked the beginning of their mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
