Devil May Cry 5 is a wonderful game to enjoy for many evenings in a row, but there’s a possibility to finish the game in a mere 10 minutes time span. Why would anyone deliberately do so with such a great project? Well, the truth is you can only do so after you’ve completed the game at least once. No one is taking your first proper playthrough from you.
It turns out that Devil May Cry 5 has a secret ending, which lets you eventually kill the main antagonist during the very first time you two meet. You might try doing so on your first run, but it’s pretty much impossible. To kill the baddy you need to be in an extremely powerful state, which can be achieved after the first completion and replaying the game in NG+ mode with all the abilities and moves you’ve learned. Moreover, you also need to be a skilled player because the abilities won’t help you if you can’t use them effectively enough, so you may – or may not – kill the boss in the first 10 minutes. Funnily, there’s an easier approach with the unlockable Heaven or Hell mode, which enables killing enemies in a single hit. It also applies to the main antagonist – and you as well. However, in this case, you’ll have to complete the game twice with the first playthrough being regular and the second one being executed in the Son of Sparda mode.
A somewhat similar idea was executed in Far Cry 4 if you recall. All you needed to do was to wait for Pagan Min to finish his phone call at the very beginning. Ubisoft repeated itself with yet another alternative ending in Far Cry 5, which also required your complete inaction during the introductory scene with the main antagonist. In comparison to that, Devil May Cry 5 definitely requires a lot more efforts.
