Gage "Infinite" Green of ORGLESS is the next CS:GO pro to leave the game for Riot Games’ upcoming tactical shooter, VALORANT.
In a brief TwitLonger, Infinite explains how hard a decision it was for him to drop what has been a huge passion of his. However, he chose to make the switch due to the current state of North American Counter-Strike, stating, “it has become increasingly difficult to continue playing the game as a main source of income.”
A growing number of former CS:GO pros that made the jump before Infinite have also said similar things, stating how hard it is for smaller CS:GO teams to thrive in the competitive scene.
It appears that Infinite doesn't have a team just yet, but he acknowledges the tough road ahead with confidence. Starting a new career in a new game will surely be hard, but what seems to be attracting many of these players to VALORANT is Riot's plan to support the game at all levels of competitive play.
VALORANT is currently in closed beta as it slowly roles out to more regions. Even with the ongoing pandemic, Riot is confident it will meet the game's Summer 2020 release date.
