In 2019 China will become the leader in esports earnings

Esports prediction company BetHut published a report called “How to Become An eSports Champion” which predicts, that China will become the leader in the world esports earning.

In 2018, the USA was the leader with $28 million in total esports earning to the $16 million of earnings for China.

The report includes data collected by PwC which also indicates that the total esports revenue in 2018 reached $805 million. Most of the money came from direct sponsorship ($277), media rights ($181m) and advertisements during the broadcasts ($163m).

The same report by PwC predicts that the industry will grow over $18% annually, reaching $1.58 in 2022.

BetHut also referred to a research conducted by Newzoo, according to which there is going to be 557 million esports viewers by 2021 in contrast with 380 million in 2018. The brands will be doubling their esports investments from $694 million in 2018 to $1.39 billion by 2021.
