Remedy has recently shared new gameplay trailer for Control – the upcoming reality-shifting action game, which is likely to become another fan-favourite title from the Finnish studio along with Max Payne and Alan Wake. Let’s not get too excited though – just enjoy the video.
The trailer starts off with demonstrating some of the impressive mind-blowing environments that you’ll see in the game. But what makes Control really worth your attention is the number of powerful supernatural abilities, such as levitation, telekinesis, mind control, etc., that you can use to survive and counter your enemies. Physics-based gameplay allows you to create unique situations and new methods to overcome the challenges that stand in your way. Shape-shifting weapons are another feature of Control’s mechanics. You can craft new forms of guns, which better suit your play style, and upgrade them to improve their battle stats.
As part of its coverage of the game, GameInformer has also posted a few details regarding the pre-order bonuses and special editions of Control. Pre-ordering the standard edition grants you two additional small pieces of content – a Tactical Response Gear outfit for the protagonist and a Crafting Resources pack. Pre-orders for PS4 are a bit more content-packed, so to say; they include early access to the rare Service Weapon and character modes as well as two themes for PS4 home screen and an Astral Dive outfit.
Both physical Retail Deluxe editions for PS4 and Xbox One will be delivered in metal cases with sets of art cards. PS4 is also blessed with a special Digital Deluxe edition, which includes even more goodies on top of the ones in the standard edition – a side mission “Isolation”, an Urban Response Gear outfit, and the access to the two story DLCs, “The Foundation” and “AWE”. Looks like Remedy loves PS4 the most.
Control releases on August 27, 2019. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
