Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen, the in-game leader for MAD Lions, has been benched.
MAD Lions are a team that took the CS:GO competitive world by surprise with fantastic performances and placings in qualifiers that got them to significant events like DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020, ICE Challenge 2020, and IEM Katowice 2020. They have even seemed to secure the title of being the second-best team from Denmark. After a 9-12th place finish for the Danes at IEM Katowice 2020, they decided to make a change.
HUNDEN has been a long term figure in the MAD Lions camp, but his recent performances have been lackluster. He finished IEM Katowice 2020 with a 0.72 HLTV rating and a -64 kill differential.
With the benching of HUNDEN, MAD Lions is now:
Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand
Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen
Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen
Rasmus "sjuush" Beck
Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu (Coach)
Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen (Bench)
We do not know who will be replacing HUNDEN on the Danish squad at this time. HUNDEN being the in-game leader makes replacing him much more difficult. An existing player in the roster may need to pick up the role, or MAD Lions will have to search for a new IGL, which may mean a big shakeup for the roster's playbook.
