The largest esports jobs platform has its eyes set on becoming the most significant video games jobs platform as well. Hitmarker launched a successful equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube on November 1.

Hitmarker’s initial target was £80,000 ($102,000) in exchange for 4% equity with a cap set at £200,000 ($256,000)  for 9.43% equity. Originally planned to run for 30 days, the campaign succeeded in reaching the cap in only six days. With the added investment funds, Hitmarker will double its full-time staff so that it can quickly expand into the video game industry as a whole. Four hundred five investors from thirty-seven countries pledged during the campaign, with the average amount invested being £500, receiving one pledge every 20 minutes.

Hitmarker founder, Phil Huggan said in a release:

We’ll use the extra £120,000 wisely, by increasing our marketing spend and paying more competitive salaries with the view of dominating the video game industry’s hiring landscape, just as we’ve done in esports. We expect this to increase the number of jobs on our platform five-fold and lead to a similar surge in the number of users we have.”

Hitmarker is the winner of "Service Provider of the Year" at the 2019 UK Esports Awards. Since its launch in 2017, Hitmarker has gained 450,000 unique users and has been used to search for jobs or staff almost 1.3 million times.
