Heroic are now the champions of DreamHack Open Atlanta after defeating the Germain team, Sprout 2-0. They owe their victory to an excellent performance by Casper "cadiaN" Møller.
In the Semifinals, Heroic beat Virtus.pro, while Sprout defeated CR4ZY to meet in the Grand Finals. Sprout picked Train, the first map, in which they took an early lead. Eventually, though, Heroic was able to catch up and take the half at 9-6. Sprout took yet another 3-0 lead in the second half but failed to build on their momentum. Heroic took the first game, 16-9.
On map 2, Inferno, economy was the name of the game. Each team saved multiple weapons as they went back and forth until Sprout took the lead in the 10th round. Unfortunately for the German side, Heroic was relentless, successfully equalizing and winning the round with a one-round advantage.
In the second pistol round, cadiaN secured four kills for Heroic. They followed up with even more dominant play, which led to a 16-10 scoreline and a 2-0 Grand Final victory.
