Chen "Hao" Zhihao has registered as a temporary substitute for Newbee for the upcoming Boston Major.

Per Valve's registration logs, Hao does not appear to have been moved to a starting position for Boston, and Newbee has not moved any of its primary players to sub. Hao will likely be held in reserve in case one of Newbee's players is unable to attend due to visa issues or illness.
Hao is currently an inactive member of Newbee's roster, having announced he was taking a six-month break from Dota 2 after Newbee's 9th-12th finish at The International 2016. At the time, he said there was a possibility that the break could turn into a permanent retirement.
Following Newbee's release of their entire roster in the Post-TI shuffle, the team said that Hao and Zhang "Mu" Pan would not be rejoining the team.
Over his long career, Hao has played with several of China's top Dota squads, including Tyloo in 2011 and Vici Gaming in 2015. He won TI4 while playing with Newbee and came fourth at both TI3 with Tongfu and TI5 with Newbee.
